(50 minutes) Marlborough (80 minutes to Blenheim) or over to Motueka
(70 minutes) and the beautiful Kaiteriteri Beach and Marahau where
the Abel Tasman walks and trips are operated from. You can travel
to Golden Bay and be in Takaka within 2 hours or over to the wild
West Coast in 2.5 hours, or take an inland trip down through Springs
Junction and on to the picturesque alpine village of Hanmer Springs.

Trekkers,
hikers and trampers are well catered for in the Nelson Lakes
National Park. From the alpine shores of Lakes Rotoiti and Rotoroa
a network of tracks explore the edge of the lakes and the park's
glacial features and tranquil beech forests.
Both short walks and full day walks are available and provide
something for every age and capability. The walks are well sign
posted and graded, with walkways and bridges crossing streams
and rivers. This is an alpine environment so firm footwear and
warm clothing is advisable.
